Irish farmers wait for results of suspected virus in Tyrone

The results from samples taken from a sheep suspected of being infected with foot and mouth disease in Co Tyrone are expected later today.

The results from samples taken from a sheep suspected of being infected with foot and mouth disease in Co Tyrone are expected later today.

The sheep was discovered with symptoms of the disease at a slaughterhouse in Dungannon yesterday.

There has already been one confirmed case of foot and mouth north of the border, at a farm in Meigh in South Armagh.

So far, the disease has been kept out of the Republic.
