Ireland captain Roy Keane is expected to link up with his team-mates in Dublin later this morning after receiving treatment on his injured knee at Old Trafford this week.
There were fears that Keane would miss the World Cup play-off against Iran because of the injury, but Ireland manager Mick McCarthy said the fact that he is travelling to Dublin signals that he is probably fit to play.
Keane’s absence would be a severe blow to Ireland’s hopes of World Cup qualification.
