Three Latvians charged over alleged extortion racket

Three Latvian nationals have been charged in connection with what Gardaí are describing as an extortion racket in Co Monaghan.

Three Latvian nationals have been charged in connection with what Gardaí are describing as an extortion racket in Co Monaghan.

The two women and a man were among a total of seven people arrested in the Ballybay area in connection with the alleged operation.

The three have been bailed to appear in court next month, while the other four are still in garda custody.
