Offaly have made two changes and a positional switch for Saturday's Bank of Ireland SFC first round qualifier against Carlow at Dr Cullen Park (throw-in 5.30pm).

Faithfuls boss Kevin Kilmurray has handed Tullamore youngster James Keane, Offaly's minor footballer of 2004, the task of replacing combative captain Barry Mooney (shoulder) at wing back.

Karol Slattery takes over as skipper, with the only other change from Offaly's 1-8 to 1-10 Leinster loss at the hands of Laois, coming up front.

John Reynolds starts at left corner forward, replacing James Coughlan, who misses out due to personal reasons, with Niall McNamee switching over to the right corner.

Offaly made it to the second round of the qualifiers last season before losing to Wexford - 0-15 to 2-14.

OFFALY (SFC v Carlow): Padraic Kelly; Cathal Daly, Conor Evans, Scott Brady; James Keane, Shane Sullivan, Karol Slattery (Capt); Ciaran McManus, Alan McNamee; Colm Quinn, Mark Daly, Neville Coughlan; Niall McNamee, Pascal Kellaghan, John Reynolds.
