This afternoon’s Flat fixture at Ayr has passed a precautionary inspection.
Course officials were due to inspect at 7.45am due to heavy rain in the area over the past 48 hours but were able to give a decision early.
More rain was forecast but less than expected actually fell and the track is fit for racing.
Clerk of the course Emma Marley said: “We’ve got the green light.
“Significantly less rain fell than was forecast. We had 15mm in the last 24 hours which we were able to cope with and the track has taken very well. The going is, however, heavy and will be very testing but racing goes ahead.”
