Veteran actor Kirk Douglas has told how he had been on the brink of committing suicide after he suffered a stroke.

Veteran actor Kirk Douglas has told how he had been on the brink of committing suicide after he suffered a stroke.

The 85-year-old Spartacus star put a loaded gun in his mouth after the stroke in 1995, which left him fearing he would never talk or act again.

But he overcame the urge and says he is now looking forward to acting with son Michael Douglas and grandson Cameron in a film which will be the first time he has appeared on screen with Michael.
