Irish exporters are facing into a difficult period, with the US dollar hitting new lows against the euro this week.
America is one of the main destinations for Irish exports and the exchange rate is making Irish products more expensive on the other side of the Atlantic.
The dollar fell to a new low today, with €1 now buying almost $1.38.
The Irish Exporters Association says the problem is compounded by the fact that the Japanese and Chinese have also let their currencies fall, making them more competitive than Ireland.
