Tomas Quinn and Andrew Smith have made history today by becoming the first GAA Players of the Month to claim the award based solely on their club performances.

Tomas Quinn and Andrew Smith have made history today by becoming the first GAA Players of the Month to claim the award based solely on their club performances.

Quinn has been named Footballer of the Month for March after leading St Vincent's to their first All-Ireland Club Football Championship title since 1976.

Smith, meanwhile, has been named Hurler of the Month after scoring 2-2 in Portumna's win over Birr in the hurling final.
