A Dundalk man due to stand trial this week on a charge of membership of an unlawful organisation has had his trial postponed on grounds of ill health.
Mr Vincent McKevitt, aged 44, of Mountain Court, Point Road, Dundalk, is one of six men charged with membership of the IRA on January 5 last.
The six were arrested after gardai investigating the activities of dissident republicans raided a house in Nicholas Street, Dundalk and seized a quantity of guns and ammunition.
While on remand in Portlaoise Prison awaiting trial, Mr McKevitt developed heart problems that necessitated his removal to hospital.
The Special Criminal Court today adjourned the matter for mention on January 13 next.
The trial of the other five accused begins at the Special Criminal Court on Tuesday.
