The Grand Prix cars that graced the Formula 1 World Championship during the early 90’s will be in action at Mondello Park tomorrow for the Irish Super Prix at the revamped Co Kildare circuit.
Dutchman Klaas Zwart will drive the ex-Gerhard Berger Ferrari V12 that set to be one of the star attractions.
Former Super Prix winner, Tony Worswick in an ex-Jordan, Tony Shelton’s magnificent ex-Schumacher Benetton and Zwart are the favourites for victory.
The Irish Super Prix will take place over two 15-lap races, the first is timed to start at 2. 00pm.
In all, a total of 13 Formula One cars and seven Formula 3000 cars are expected to race.
Sarah Kavanagh from Dublin will drive a 1993 Jordan while in the BOSS 3000 class, Mullingar’s Noel McIntyre is the Irish representative.
The race programme also includes Strykers, Formula Vee, Fiat Uno, Fiat Punto and Historic Sports Cars.
Also tomorrow, the second round of the Irish Karting Championships take place at Tynagh, Co Galway and there are Loose Surfaces Autocross races at Midleton (Cork) and Fountain (Co Clare).
