Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has shot down rumours she could lose her voice through drug use - insisting she is hard at work on her new album.

Winehouse was said to have returned to rehab at the weekend but it later emerged she had been treated at The London Clinic for a chest problem.

She has since posted a video on her website, telling fans she plans to release new material soon - and her spokesman has blasted rumours the singer could lose her voice as a result of her wild lifestyle.

He says, "Amy isn't on a deadline with her album. The last album's still selling. She's in and out of the studio working... the record company hasn't seen the final result yet. Amy's fine."
