Seb Sanders landed a valuable double to edge four ahead of Jamie Spencer in the race for the jockeys' championship following this afternoon's meetings.
Spencer is stuck on 167 after having no luck at Bath, where he gave up his last ride on Azreme due to a slight back problem.
"It was a precaution basically. It's nothing and he'll be riding at Wolverhampton tomorrow," said his agent Andrew Sheret.
Meanwhile, Sanders leapt to 171 with a 35-1 brace at Lingfield. Chasing his first title, he struck on the Alan McCabe-trained Capricorn Run (7-1) and Maybe I Won't (7-2) for Simon Dow.
But he suffered a blow as he picked up a one-day ban (November 4) for careless riding on third home Pagan Sword in the final race at the Surrey venue.
Sanders then moved on to Kempton for five rides at the evening fixture.
