Hundreds protest gentrification of Moore Street

Hundreds of people have gathered at the GPO on Dublin's O'Connell Street to save what they say is an iconic 1916 site.

Campaigners claim a terrace of houses on nearby Moore Street should be preserved as an integral part of our history.

However, there are plans for redevelopment in the area, including a hotel.

Earlier this month protesters barricaded themselves into the buildings earmarked for demolition.

The case is due before the High Court next month.
