Gardaí to investigate Avoca fire at Bunratty Castle

Gardaí are investigating a fire in Bunratty, Co Clare last night which destroyed an outlet of Avoca Woollen Mills.

Gardaí are investigating a fire in Bunratty, Co Clare last night which destroyed an outlet of Avoca Woollen Mills.

The shop and the restaurant attached to it were gutted by the blaze which broke out at around 8pm last night.

Four units of the fire brigade from Limerick and Clare took over four hours to control the fire.

35 people are employed at the Avoca shop, which is close to the historic Bunratty Castle.
