Nottingham Forest were given a “free” goal as they started their replayed Carling Cup tie with Leicester.

The second-round tie between the two sides was abandoned at half-time last month after City defender Clive Clarke collapsed in the dressing room after suffering heart failure.

Forest were leading 1-0 at the time, and the visitors sportingly allowed the Reds to regain that 1-0 lead with the first touch of the game, and goalkeeper Phil Smith dribbled all the way through and netted – his first career goal.
