Amanda Bynes arrested for DUI

Amanda Bynes was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) yesterday (Sunday) morning.

The 28-year-old actress, who sought treatment in rehab last year, was detained at 3am in San Fernando Valley after police discovered she was under the influence of a controlled substance while driving.

The 'She's the Man' star was taken to the Van Nuys station in California before being released at 12:44pm on $15,000 bail, according to TMZ.com.

Amanda is set to appear in court on October 23.

Meanwhile, the 'Hairspray' star was charged with DUI in April 2012 after she hit a police car in West Hollywood, but the charge was dropped in February this year and she was sentenced to three years of probation for reckless driving as part of a plea deal.

Amanda had her driving licence suspended by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in September 2012 following two alleged hit-and-run charges in April and August, but the case was dismissed in December 2012 following a financial settlement between herself and the victims.

However, Amanda has only been behind the wheel for six months after the DMV restored her licence in April this year following three months of alcohol education classes as part of her plea deal in February.

The blonde beauty was placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold last year following a number of bizarre incidents, but she was released in December and now lives in the custody of her parents, Lynn and Rick.
