Paisley: SF move on policing 'will be tested in deed'
The DUP leader, Ian Paisley, has said that Sinn Féin's move towards endorsing police in the North will be tested in deed, not words.
The Sinn Féin Ard Chomhairle meets in Dublin later today to decide whether to call a special Ard Fheis on policing.
The meeting must approve the calling of a special Ard Fheis by two thirds.
If so, it will be held within four weeks provided, said Mr. Adams, there was a positive response from the two governments and the DUP.
Ian Paisley said the move was long overdue and unionism will test the Republican commitment to policing on the ground.
The party's MP for Lagan Valley, Jeffrey Donaldson, said Sinn Féin must encourage its supporters to give information about crime to the police and the courts.
