RSA slams 'awful weekend' after spate of road deaths

The Road Safety Authority has described the last 24 hours as "an awful weekend" after seven road deaths around the country.

Two overnight crashes have left three people dead in counties Roscommon and Cork.

And a head-on collision in County Laois resulted in the deaths of three men and a woman yesterday morning.

The sole survivor of that crash remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
