Gardai have arrested 10 secondary school students during a protest outside the Dail.

Gardai have arrested 10 secondary school students during a protest outside the Dail.

In Bray, Co Wicklow six students were detained, but then released.

Two garda patrol cars were damaged in Blanchardstown, west Dublin, when missiles were thrown by students in a group of around 200.

One car had a side window smashed while the second patrol vehicle had its windscreen broken. No arrests were made there.

The arrests come as talks resume at the Labour Court today between the Government and the ASTI.

Fine Gael has called on the union to abandon its planned three-day strike for this week.
