Manchester City boss Kevin Keegan is biding his time before making any moves in the transfer market.
Keegan admits he is keen to bring in new faces as City look to make a swift return to the Premiership, but feels it is something that cannot be rushed.
He said: "It is a strange time of the year to be looking for players. As I said to the fans and the media on the first day I came to the club, you will all know when we sign a player."
He added: "There will be people coming in and there may be players going out. At this stage I am still in the process of trying to get players in.
"You can't work to a deadline on this as a deal nowadays can take two or three weeks. You have to negotiate and there are a number of reasons why it can take time.
"There are a lot of things that have to fall into place, but that is just normal football management.
"For want of a better phrase, you have a lot of balls in the air and you are waiting for one to drop," he said.
