An incendiary device has partially exploded under a van in the North.

The item detonated around 3am today in the Willow Glynn area of Maghera, Co Derry. There are no reports of any injuries.

It was discovered by the owner of the vehicle shortly after 8am.

Police believe the device was placed there between midnight and 3am.

It has been removed from the scene for further examination.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
