Arjen Robben admits he has not been in top gear for Chelsea this season but insists he does not want to leave the champions.

Robben returns to Blackburn today, where he broke two bones in a foot last season after a challenge from Rovers’ Aaron Mokoena.

Chelsea’s Dutch winger was in flying form when he suffered the injury setback in February 2005.

But he barely played again last season and has still not recaptured his best form.

Robben, 22, said: “I would have liked to play a more important role this season for the team.

“During my first year I could easily make the difference in the game, something that I have not been able to do in the past months.”
