A group of 20 Defence Forces personnel is collecting a Lotto prize worth nearly €500,000 today.

A group of 20 Defence Forces personnel is collecting a Lotto prize worth nearly €500,000 today.

The army syndicate, based in Kilkenny, will be marching in to National Lottery headquarters this afternoon to collect their winnings.

The soldiers matched five numbers and the bonus to win a prize worth nearly €453,000.

It is the biggest prize won to date in this Lotto prize category.
