Hollywood actor Heath Ledger struggled to perfect his speech for new movie Brokeback Mountain - because he plays a Wisconsin cowboy with a strong accent who suffers from speech impairments.
Ledger, who stars alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in Ang Lee's critically acclaimed story of two gay cowboys, managed to master his impersonation by clenching his face up like a fist.
He says: "Words can sometimes restrict what you want to say.
"It was important for me to find the regional accent and characterise it. Turn my mouth, my face around so it's clenched like a fist and the words have to punch their way out."
