With all boxes opened in the Donegal South-West by-election , Pearse Doherty has won 39.75% of the first-preference votes, according to the tallies, and is significantly ahead of Fianna Fáil's Brian O' Domhnaill on 21.2%.
Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams has arrived at the count centre in Donegal, but said the party was not going to "cheer its chickens" just yet, and would await the official result.
