The ISEQ in Dublin moved up 6 points to 5229 at 10.40am with the financials and CRH fairly active.
AIB closed up 4c to €12.04 at 10.30. The bank admitted today to overcharging its forex customers up to €14m. BOI gained 7c to €10.10 and Anglo moved down 6c to €13.40, despite positive broker upgrades earlier in the week. Irish L&p was unchanged at €13.00.
Fyffes added 2c to €1.58. The fruit distribution company said it had bought Swedish company Everfresh yesterday.
Kerry did not continue yesterday's rise, with no change in early trading for the food stock which was steady €16.60.
Elsewere Northern copany Galen moved up over 1.5%, or 17c, to €11.37 after it announced that it had bought the Ovcon licence from Barr pharmaceuticals.
Elsewhere Independent News and Media was down 1c to €1.86 and CRH moved down 2c to €17.67.
The FTSE100 in London was nearly unchanged in early trade down 9 points to 4506. Elsewhere in Europe the CAC in Paris was up 0.27% and the DAX in Frankfurt was unchanged at 11.00am.
