Ireland and Leinster player, Gordon D’Arcy will not feature in tomorrow’s friendly international against Samoa after he failed a fitness test earlier today.

The talented young prospect had been named on the wing in Warren Gatland’s team and he was set to make only his second ever appearance in a senior Irish shirt.

However, D’Arcy pulled up in training yesterday with a sore hamstring muscle and treatment from the side’s medical team failed to repair the damage.

His place will now be taken by the Irish and Ulster Lions player, Tyrone Howe, with his place on the Ireland A team, who play tonight, taken by Justin Bishop.
