A fire at an orphanage in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo killed five children and injured at least 17 today, police said.

A fire at an orphanage in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo killed five children and injured at least 17 today, police said.

The fire at the Ljubica Ivezic orphanage in downtown Sarajevo started around 6 am, said police spokesman Dragan Furtula.

Two of the injured were in serious condition, Furtula said.

A nurse working at the orphanage was also among the injured.
