The most recent figures show that almost one fifth of Irish householders are unable to properly heat their homes during the winter months.

Dr Helen McAvoy, spokesperson for the IPH, says the comprehensive strategy being pursued in Britain and the North could be used as a model to solve the problem in the Republic.
