Limerick: Man due in court after toddler carried in stolen car

A 32-year-old man is due to appear before Limerick District Court this afternoon charged in connection with an incident in which a car with a two-year-old child inside was stolen yesterday.

A 32-year-old man is due to appear before Limerick District Court this afternoon charged in connection with an incident in which a car with a two-year-old child inside was stolen yesterday.

The vehicle was parked outside a shop on the Old Cratloe Road when a man approached it, removed two children and sped off with a tw -year-old passenger still inside.

The child was let out one mile down the same road, before the man crashed the car.

Gardaí say they fired two shots after the driver tried to ram the car at officers who had been issuing verbal warnings to him.

The man is due in court later.
