More than two dozen minor earthquakes shook the wealthy suburbs east of San Francisco, but caused no injuries or damage.
The quakes, which seismologists call a “swarm,” began about 8.20am yesterday. And continued throughout the day, according to the US Geological Survey.
Centred near the wealthy suburbs of Dublin and San Ramon, about 25 miles east of San Francisco, the swarm included at least 28 quakes by nightfall.
The strongest quake struck at mid-morning, and could be felt as far away as Berkeley, just across the bay from San Francisco, about 15 miles from the epicentre. That shaker had a magnitude of 4.2.
