Dog owners to avail of free micro-chipping

Dublin dog owners will be able to avail of free micro-chipping thanks to the DSPCA.

2,016 dogs will get a chip for free - ahead of mandatory microchipping in 2016.

Details are available on-line - and those outside Dublin can avail of the service too.

"They have to register in advance online, just keep an eye on our website we will be doing other events around the place we have planned to go to Naas, Sligo and Cork as well," said Gillian Bird of the DSPCA.
