Cork make seven changes for Limerick clash
Dual player Michael Cussen, who is concentrating solely on hurling this year, will make his first National Hurling League start for Cork in tomorrow night's Division 1 encounter with Limerick at the Gaelic Grounds (throw-in 7.30pm).
Cussen was used as a late substitute in last weekend's opening league win for the Rebels over Offaly, scoring a point. Tomorrow he will hope to use his aerial prowess at full-forward, where he replaces Aisake O hAilpín.
In all, Cork manager Denis Walsh has made seven changes to the side that beat Offaly 1-22 to 1-11 at Páirc Uí Chaoímh.
Regular goalkeeper Donal Og Cusack is rested with Martin Coleman given a chance to impress between the posts, and dual player Eoin Cadogan, Conor O'Sullivan and Ray Ryan have been introduced in defence.
Sean Og O hAilpín is one the players to make way.
There are two further alterations in attack, as Fintan O'Leary and Graham Calnan line out as Cork's wing forwards, flanking Mark O'Sullivan.
Meanwhile, it has emerged that key Cork forward Ben O'Connor will link up with Walsh's panel next Tuesday night.
O'Connor's commitments with Cork and Munster club champions Newtownshandrum meant he missed the start of the inter-county campaign.
The O'Connor twins, Ben and Jerry, and Cathal Naughton, who starred in Newtownshandrum's run through to this month's All-Ireland semi-finals, are expected to return to Cork colours in Tuesday's challenge match against Clare in Fermoy.
