Anthrax scare in Castlerea prison

There has been an anthrax scare at Castlerea prison in Co Roscommon.

There has been an anthrax scare at Castlerea prison in Co Roscommon.

Traces of white dust were discovered when some powder was found on a letter delivered to the prison.

Gardai were called to the scene where emergency procedures were put into place.

The suspect package has been taken to Galway where it is undergoing examination. The results will be known later.
