The Irish Refugee Council has accused the Government of failing to provide adequate food to the children of asylum seekers.

In a report released today, the IRC said 92% of those who receive food from the Government have to supplement their supplies because they are not enough.

Under the ‘direct provision’ scheme, the Government is obliged to provide £15 per week for each adult asylum seeker and £7.50 for each child.
