Email on the move is set to become a reality for Irish consumers with the launch of O2 Ireland's BlackBerry 7230TM.

The move will allow users access email services outside the confines of their home or office.

Up until now the BlackBerry was only available to the business customers of O2.

It comes with an integrated mobile phone and is triband which means it can be used in the US, Canada and the Asia-Pacific region.

Roaming agreements between overseas mobile operators and O2 Ireland also allow access in dozens of countries worldwide.

The BlackBerry 7230TM comes with a recommended retail price of €379 including VAT with price plans from €30 per month for three MB of data, typically 1,000 text emails.
