Longford 1-11 Meath 0-11

Sean Boylan got an early setback in his 21st year as manager of the Meath footballers when they were beaten by Longford in the O'Byrne Cup under floodlights last night.

The game, which took place under floodlights at the state of the art Simonstown Gaels pitch, was all about the talent of Longford's Padraic Davis.

The full-forward hit 1-6 of the midlanders' tally amid windy conditions at the venue outside Navan to leave Longford facing Wexford in Sunday's semi-final.
