Scotland's Colin Montgomerie takes a three-shot lead into the final round of the Murphy's Irish Open in Fota Island, Cork today.
Montgomerie is on 13 under par after carding a 68 yesterday and if he can continue the form he has showed all week, he could claim his first European Tour victory in 57 weeks.
The Scot has been ahead since the opening day of the competition on Thursday, when he set a new course record of 63.
Montgomerie was temporarily joined in first place yesterday by 20-year-old Australian Adam Scott, but while Scott finished with a bogey six, Montgomerie birdied the 14th and 17th.
Scott currently lies in second place on 10 under par, with Anthony Wall, Gary Emerson and Fredrik Henge tied for third on eight under.
Darren Clarke, meanwhile, improved from 55th to joint sixth with a 65 yesterday, but he is still seven strokes behind Montgomerie.
