Defence Forces to spend €700k on new motorcycles

The Defence Forces are to spend around €700,000 on a new fleet of motorcycles.

The 48 bikes will be used for ceremonial occasions as escorts of honour for dignitaries.

Tenders have been put out to replace the current fleet of 46 Honda Deauville 700cc which were bought in 2008.

It is expected the new motorcycles will be delivered to the Curragh in November.
