It is being reported that Taoiseach Bertie Ahern’s proposed Cabinet reshuffle has sparked in-fighting among several Fianna Fáil ministers.
Today’s Sunday Independent claims that many ministers are no longer on speaking terms, following recriminations over the party's poor showing in the local and European elections.
Meanwhile, there is also speculation the Minister for Finance, Charlie McCreevy, may be nominated to take up the role as Ireland's next EU Commissioner.
Earlier this week, outgoing commissioner David Byrne said Ireland should consider an economic portfolio in Europe.
