The Taoiseach has been meeting the social partners to address outstanding matters relating to the new national wage agreement.

While there is overall agreement on the "Sustaining Progress" deal, a number of issues still need to be clarified.

Brendan Butler of IBEC says several outstanding problems were put to the Taoiseach.

The issues included inflation, housing and competitiveness.

Insurance costs were also brought up at the meeting as a critical issue that was effecting all groups.
