The controversy surrounding Ken Loach's Cannes winner The Wind That Shakes the Barley, set during the Black and Tan era, continues.
But Irish actor Cillian Murphy has stepped in to defend it against British claims that it's anti-British.
Mr Murphy said: "The film deals with well-documented factual events and to say that it's somehow anti-British is just plain wrong.
"It's a complex situation but I think we have addressed the historical complexities."
