GPA and Kerry stars lead tributes after ‘tragic loss’ of Patrick Curtin

The Gaelic Players Association and a host of Kerry footballers have paid tribute to former Kerry footballer Paddy Curtin, who

The 26-year-old was injured in Guatemala before Christmas and had been airlifted from there to hospital in Miami for treatment.

The GPA extended its condolences to the family, friends and teammates of the player.

“On behalf of the county playing body I would like offer our sincere sympathies to the Curtin family, to Kerry GAA, the Moyvane club and to everyone associated with Patrick whose tragic loss has come as a terrible shock to the GAA community,” GPA Chief Executive Dessie Farrell said.

“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam."

Curtin represented Kerry at every level and was a member of the GPA during his period with the county’s senior team in 2012 and 2013.

Many of his former teammates also expressed their sadness at his loss, as did GAA players and fans around the country.
