UCD face a tricky Cup opener as they take on non-league Cherry Orchard at the UCD Bowl, kick-off 7.45pm.
The Students must plan without Robbie Creevy as he is struggling with an ankle injury.
Top scorer Graham Rusk is also a serious doubt as he recovers from a foot injury picked up in the recent clash with St Patrick's Athletic.
College boss Martin Russell said: "This is the FAI Cup and it is a massive opportunity for us to progress on in the competition.
“We have watched Cherry Orchard three times and although for once we may be considered the favourites, we are going to show them the respect that they deserve for reaching this stage.
“We will focussing on producing a good display and will hope that will be enough to see us to the next round."
One of the most successful non-league clubs in the country, the Orchard reached the FAI Intermediate Cup final this year and beat Cobh Ramblers in the previous round.
