Gardai have launched a major search for two cousins who escaped from custody today.

Gardai have launched a major search for two cousins who escaped from custody today.

The men, both in their twenties, were being transported to Limerick Prison from the District Court at around lunchtime when they made their getaway.

The men are said to have escaped just as they were being brought into the jail on Mulgrave Street in the city.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Roxboro Road garda station.
