RTE cuts top earners' pay by 30%

RTE has cut the total paid to its top 10 earners by 30%.

RTE has cut the total paid to its top 10 earners by 30%.

Among the personalities to suffer the biggest cutbacks are Late Late host Ryan Tubridy, who has seen his salary cut by 32% to €495,000; Marian Finucane, who is down 48% to €295,000 and Eamon Dunphy, down by 67% to €106,000.

RTE says it is delivering on its commitment to cut costs.

In 2008, it paid €4.45m to the 10 highest-paid presenters. In 2013 that figure is expected to be in the region of €3m.
