The birth of Joscelyn Savanna will be shown on tonight’s episode following talks between the producers and the Social Affairs Ministry that set the ground rules for the baby’s participation in the show.

“It will not show any explicit scenes,” said Stephanie Dekker, spokeswoman of the Talpa network, noting that medical and educational TV programmes have shown more graphic footage of births.

Authorities have told the producers that Joscelyn may be on air for no more than eight hours for the duration of the show, which ends on December 22.

She must stay in room where cameras are not allowed, and where her mother and grandparents may be with her in private.
