There is speculation in Mayo over the future of John Maughan as county manager after comments he made on a local radio station.

The Mayo boss was said to be livid following his side's Allianz Football League Semi-Final defeat at the hands of Armagh last weekend.

Maughan admitted during the radio programme that he has been ringing departed midfielder David Brady at least five times a week to persuade him to end his inter-county retirement.

His comments came on Mid-West Radio's "Sports Talkshop" show, in conversation with former Galway boss John O'Mahony and Western People sports editor Anthony Henegan.
