The Black Crowes in comeback

Rockers The Black Crowes are planning to reunite and record a seventh album.

Rockers The Black Crowes are planning to reunite and record a seventh album.

The hard-living band - fronted by brothers Chris and Rich Robinson - split in January 2002, after the previous year's poorly received Lions album, when the feuding siblings refused to work together.

However, recent mystery meetings between band members and former manager Pete Angelus have convinced fans a comeback is on the cards.

Angelus says: "I can confirm that recently, for the first time in three years, I have taken meetings with Chris and Rich Robinson.

"At this point in time, it would be premature for me to comment on the nature of those meetings or The Black Crowes reuniting."

Rumours of a comeback have been further fuelled by recent changes to the band's official website - BlackCrowes.com - which was updated in July with a new animated image and music.

But Rich, the band's guitarist, refuses to confirm whether there is any truth in the speculation.

He says: "We don't have any plans to get back together and we don't have any plans not to get back together. Nothing has changed in the past year."

Whether the band reunite or not, both Robinson brothers are progressing with their own solo careers. Chris released his second solo album This Magnificent Distance in May and Rich is preparing to release his début solo disc Paper later this year.

Critically praised albums including The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion, Amorica and Three Snakes And One Charm made The Black Crowes one of the most highly-regarded roots rockers of the 90s.
