Lancashire Oaks winner Mellow Park is set to be retired after trailing in a well-beaten eighth in the Yorkshire equivalent at York.

The three-year-old, winner of the Lupe Stakes at Goodwood, was suffering her third heavy defeat in Group One company as she had also finished some way adrift in the Vodafone Oaks and the Irish Oaks.

"That is probably her last race and she will go to the paddocks now," said her trainer Jeremy Noseda.

"She is a very good Group Three filly and she has done us proud. But she is not quite good enough for Group One company."
